Welcome to our muli-disciplinary clinic setup by Mr Rajiv Limaye, a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in trauma, limited knee soft tissue surgery and surgery of the foot and ankle. This clinic is based in the North East of England, covering a large area of North Yorkshire and Durham / Teesside/and Darlington area.
Mr Rajiv Limaye moved to University hospital of North Tees and Hartlepool as a Consultant from April 2014. He held the same position for last eight and a half years at South Tees University hospital. Mr R Limaye undertakes his trauma on call in a busy trauma unit to keep his fracture fixation skills updated.
Rajiv has had extensive Orthopaedic surgery training and experience since 1990 and hasworked in various hospitals during his training . He has been a practicing as NHS Consultant in the UK since 2005. He has gained fellowship level training in Foot and Ankle surgery in the UK and abroad. Rajiv's special interest lies in bunion surgery, arthroscopic( key hole) surgery to foot and ankle for sports injuries, ankle osteotomy and replacements. He is currently involved in a large national multi-centre audit performing total joint replacement for big toe arthritis.
Rajiv is supported by a team of specialists. He works very closely with his radiologists who are specialised in reporting MRI, CT, CT arthrograms, US for many musculo-skeletal disoders relating to Knee, Foot and Ankle and also offer interventional procedures.
Mr Rajiv Limaye works privately from BMI Woodlands Hospital based in Darlington and Nuffield Hospital Tees. He holds three clinics a week at BMI Woodlands hospital and one at Nuffield hospital, Tees every week.
In addition to his clinical appointments, Rajiv holds a place in the court of examiners for the Royal College of Surgeons of England and Edinburgh. He assists in MRCS and FRCS Orth examinations both nationally and internationally. He currently examines in London, Edinburgh, Egypt, India, Cyprus, UAE, Sri Lanka and Kenya.
He is a trainer at the Northern Deanery Orthopaedic school. Rajiv works as a revalidation lead at the hospital and also examines the final year medical students for the Newcastle medical school. The University of Teeside has recognised his teaching roles and confered upon on him the title of Honorary Lecturer since 2011.
